Google, launched the operating system today, August 21. The event was Live-streamed from NYC at 2:40 PM ET from Google’s website. Google went with branding their Android O, with Oreo. Like they previously did with KitKat.

What’s New

Background Service Limitations
The system will now do a few regular checks to see whether an app can be considered as being in the background. It checks to see that the app or any of the activities (things an app can do or initiate) aren’t visible on the screen. It then checks to see if another app is connected to it or uses any information from it, and finally, it checks for a few high-priority services like being able to act as a keyboard or if it is actively listening for voice input.

Broadcast Limitations.
Broadcasts are done by the system when specific events happen. When you switch your phone in and out of Airplane Mode, for example, a broadcast is sent to let apps know what happened. Developers can set up their apps to listen to specific broadcasts and write code so the apps do something when they happen. If an app is listening for broadcasts, every time one is sent the app uses system resources to see if any action is needed.

Picture-in-picture (PIP)
PIP mode is also coming to other Android devices with the O update. In this, you can specify the aspect ratio and type of controls you want your app to have in the state. Other than this, there’s a new app overlay window and multi-display support for launching an app on a remote display.

Google is bringing a whole new design for its emojis – one that which is more compatible with other platforms and has more tonal colour for a fun modern look. More importantly, the blobs are removed, and more circular shaped emojis.  Also, with Android O, you can even on your convenience pause play updates Ota.(large)
