Is the Asus Zenfone 4 here?
Asus CEO Jerry Shen informed the Taiwanese media site Digitimes, the Asus Zenfone4 will be launched in July. The device will be company’s latest flagship. Initially it was believed that it will be launched at Computex 2017, like the Zenfone 3, but the company reportedly held back launch for “Last minute performance improvements”.
The delay wont cost Asus in the Long Term analysis. CEO Jerry Shen expects the company to run in operating losses, in the first half of the year. With Zenfone 4 launching in later half, Shen expects a profit to cover up the losses made in first half. This might potentially also help Asus supress some of the growing competition from chinese smartphone makers like the One Plus.
While the specifics of the device still unknown, it is sure that the launch of the Zenfone 4 will follow with its variants like the Zenfone 3 series with Zenfone 3 Max, Laser, 3s Max launching months afterwords. Shen also noted that the upcoming flagship will cost sub $500(<₹30,000). Also he said that the Zenfone AR will be coming to their home country later this month costing around 25,000NT(~₹50,000).
