Asus Zenfone AR launched in India: Price and specs revealed


Asus unveiled the much awaited Zenfone AR in India

ZenFone AR, the world’s first smartphone that is both Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready. Tango is a set of sensors and computer-vision software by Google that enables smartphone augmented reality. Daydream is Google’s platform for high-quality, mobile virtual reality and supports Daydream VR apps.

The device was introduced worldwide at the CES 2016 and is highly awaited.

How does it work?

An ASUS TriCam system consisting of three rear cameras — a motion-tracking camera, depth-sensing camera and high-resolution 23MP PixelMaster 3.0 camera — which provide input to Tango, enabling smartphone AR experience. The motion-tracking camera lets ZenFone AR keep track of its location as it moves through three-dimensional space. The depth-sensing camera lets ZenFone AR determine its distance from objects. The 23MP PixelMaster 3.0 camera features a Sony IMX318 image sensor to vividly capture the environment as a backdrop for AR experience.

A five-magnet speaker driven by a powerful NXP smart amplifier delivers clear, expansive sound that can be played at high volumes without distortion. Specification

Zenfone AR is powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset running with the Adreno 530, optimized for Tango. The device has 8 GB of RAM, the first in its class and 128 GB internal memory.

The screen consists of a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels giving us the pixel density of 515 ppi. The phone features a TriCamera setup including a 23-megapixel primary camera, a depth-sensing camera and a motion-tracking camera. The primary camera supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and phase detection autofocus. The phone also includes an 8-megapixel front camera.

The device packs a 3300 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick charge, with Type – C charging.

Zenfone AR will be Flipkart exclusive smartphone and is launched at 49,999. The device comes with attractive offers, with discounts on Google Daydream VR.

  1. It’s a much better smartphone considering d recent price drop! Asus cameras ain’t good n 8gb ram is a bit too much or say over d top.
