Canvas Infinity, with Infinity display leaks
Micromax has been launching some interesting smartphone earlier also. Recently the company has been putting a lot of effort into teasing the Canvas Infinity. With words like “your smartphone experience is about to get a notch higher” and hashtags expand your view and canvas infinity, they are in for a serious smartphone launch.
The teaser revealed the smartphone is going to have an 18:9 aspect ratio display and the naming scheme suggested the same. From the Samsung Book, the Infinity Display meant the gorgeous 18:9 aspect ratio almost bezel-less display of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+.
It was obvious Micromax is aiming to compete directly with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8+ with their newest device. But according to an exclusive source, we have this doesn’t seem to be the case. According to device box photos we obtained, it seems that Micromax is aiming at the mid-segment competing with the LG Q6 and the newly announced Coolpad Cool Play 6.
Micromax Canvas Infinity Specifications
According to the specifications mentioned by our source, the device has an 18:9 aspect ratio with an LG Q6 like look. Along with a 16MP front camera with a f/2.0 aperture for the selfie lovers out there and a 13MP primary camera with the same aperture. The 5.7-inch HD IPS display is run by a 2900 mAh battery. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 with 3GB or RAM and 32GB of storage. The device also has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor, dual sim slots, and a micro-sd slot. What is interesting is the device has separate slots for dual-sim cards and the micro-sd card. The device comes preloaded with Android Nougat out of the Box.
Our sources suggest the pricing will be very similar to LG Q6 which will be around INR 14,990 (~$230). Although considering the raw specifications apart from the optics LG Q6 outweighs everything else. It will be interesting how Micromax will price such a device for it to be a hard-hitter in the market.
