Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 with Snapdragon 836 SOC to launch on October 5th
As we all know google is readying itself to launch Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, the 2017 iterations of the famous Pixel smartphones from the last year. A new leak by the famous Evan Blass says that the devices could launch as early as October 5th.
Google’s second-generation Pixel handsets, powered by Snapdragon 836 SoC’s, will be unveiled on October 5th.

The tweet by Blass also confirms the rumors of the device coming with Snapdragon 836 Soc processor. This will make the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 one of the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s latest offering. The devices will be unveiled in the middle of Note 8 and LG V30 with people waiting for the 10th anniversary iPhone the timing is probably not the best.
While these devices are expected to have a nearly bezel-less display, Google just might go with the old school way. The Pixel 2 is expected to be manufactured by HTC and have a pressure sensitive frame like in the HTC U11. While the Pixel XL 2 is supposed to be manufactured by LG with a beautiful 18:9 display ratio.
Additionally, the Pixel 2 and the XL variant will come with 64GB of base storage and 4GB of RAM. They will also have usual features like the NFC and an unusual one. An always on display like the S8 and Moto X series phones. And they are rumored to drop the headphone jack too.
Google’s October event is likely to launch more hardware apart from the Pixel 2 Lineup. It is tipped that Google will launch a new chromebook. Also, Google is likely to launch a mini version to compete against Amazon echo dot, best selling smart speaker in the market.
