Few Reasons you should skip the smartphone
Honor 9N sports Huawei’s Kirin 659 SoC. The same chipset can be seen in other Huawei and Honor phones such as Honor 9 lite and Huawei P20 lite. The processor features eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores. Four cores can be clocked with up to 1.7 GHz (power saving cores) and four with up to 2.36 GHz (performance cores). The overall performance is similar to the performance of Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 which seems an old thing now. With smartphones in the same range featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Range, 9N loses an edge.
No Type-C connectivity
The Honor 9N features a MicroUSB connection. Which is quite average for a new smartphone, With Xiaomi’s new smartphones featuring Type-C connectivity and Qualcomm’s Quick charge. The smartphone might not even support Fast charging lacking the technology and support.
The Honor 9N is based on Huawei’s custom ROM EMUI based on the latest Android 8.1 oreo. The software is pretty heavy as compared to other ROM’s available. Although the phone has several features such as IR Remote, Usage gestures and Camera App which can be useful to many. But the performance is affected due to the heavy software.
With now phone options available in Android One and Stock Android, The phone may not deliver the performance similar to the others. Even the performance in the Honor 10 with Kirin 970 is hindered due to the software. While there will be Android P update But phone may not receive Android Q. But may receive new features in the EMUI update.
The stylish design phone sports a Dual camera set-up at the back. The Camera Module is a 13+2Mp setup seen in the Honor 9 lite earlier. The primary camera doesn’t perform up to the level, As the Other competitors have been doing well with their Camera setup.
On the other hand, The Front camera performs pretty well in special lighting with Face unlock Fast but not very fast.
