Nokia 6 (2018) leaked in live images ahead of January 5 launch
HMD Global owned Nokia is expected to launch the 2018 variant of the Nokia 6 on January 5. It is said that HMD Global may announce the revised version of the original Nokia 6 in China first, and then move off to bring it to other markets. Ahead of its official launch, the images of the Nokia 6 (2018) has been leaked on a Chinese micro-blogging website Weibo. IT only confirmed all the reports we already knew. Also, it didn’t reveal any information about the specs of the phone.
As per previous rumours and reports, the new version may not be much different than the earlier one. It will be just a minor update. It will just be a slightly revised version of the original one. The live images show the phone in black colour with golden lining around the camera module and fingerprint scanner. There’s also a metallic frame across the phone that is visible in the leaked images.
The images show that the smartphone have only a single camera on the front and back. No dual camera setup still on the Nokia 6 (2018). The images also show the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor below the camera unit and the Nokia branding below that. The images also hint at a 16:9 screen and compared to the original Nokia 6 that was launched in 2017, the upcoming Nokia 6 (2018) may come with slightly thinner bezels on both top and bottom edges. On the front, looks like the smartphone may boast on-screen buttons.
Earlier this week, Nokia 6 (2018) was also spotted on TENNA. The TENNA listing revealed that the device may come with a 5.5-inch TFT display with 1080×1920 pixels resolution. It also suggests that the device may come with a 16:9 aspect ratio and not a full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio as reported earlier.
The TEENA listing further reveals that the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 coupled with 4GB of RAM. Chances are, HMD Global may announce two variants of the Nokia 6 (2018), one will be with 32GB internal storage, while the second variant — which will be the costlier one – will come with 64GB of internal storage.
In terms of optics, this year’s Nokia 6 may come with a 16-megapixel camera at the back, while may include an 8-megapixel camera sensor on the front. There is no further information about the smartphone.
