OnePlus 5 with Android Oreo spotted on GeekBench

OnePlus 5 running the latest version of Android, Android 8.0 Oreo was spotted on the benchmarking website GeekBench, which suggest that OnePlus is working with a close Beta group to test the Android 8.0 on the OnePlus 5. The company earlier announced that they will be launching Android Oreo for their flagship device OnePlus 5 and the older devices the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.

Android O for Google devices, namely Pixel, Pixel XL, and older Nexus devices like the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel C tablet and the Nexus Player started to roll out in early September. The update gives improved battery performance, changed UI, and better notification console.

OnePlus 5 is the latest flagship from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus. The flagship is powered by SnapDragon 835, clocked at 2.45 GHz. Available in two variants 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM. Which powers a 5.5-inch FullHD display with Gorilla Glass 5 coating for protection. The display is encased around a metal unibody, with a dual-camera setup on the back.

With the confirmation of testing of Android 8.0 Oreo on the OnePlus 5 with beta testers. The final update is expected to come before the end of October.  Android 8.0 Oreo bring a host of new features to Google devices, with an updated UI and better battery management. It will be a surprise as to what OnePlus will add to the Android Oreo with their Oxygen OS.
