Pixel 2 FCC listing shows Android 8.0.1 pre-loaded and more leaked!
Google’s latest device, the Pixel 2 successor to the Google Pixel is now listed on the US FCC website. The FCC listing confirms few of the earlier rumors regarding the device including the device comes pre-loaded with Android 8.0.1 also known as the Android O.
The listing was filled by HTC confirming the smaller of the two devices will be indeed manufactured by HTC. The larget one being manufactured by LG. The listing also reveals an “Active Edge” feature in the “input settings” of the phone. This looks similar to the HTC U11’s ability to perform functions by squeezing the frame. This makes sense HTC is manufacturing the device. This listing also confirms that 64GB will be the minimum storage for the pixel two and will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
All of these leaks seems consistent with the previous rumors saying the device will pack front facing stereo speakers. And will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in the process. The design of the phone is also rumored to be nearly identical to its predecessor the Google Pixel. Google will officially launch both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL later this fall and will go on sale in the October.
