Say hello to newest android smartphone from BlackBerry #DTEK50

After launching PRIV in late 2015 BlackBerry launched yet another android device this year named DTEK50. DTEK was the name of security suite found on PRIV. The DTEK50 is termed to be most secure and thinnest smartphone by the company irony being it runs on android the most insecure os in the world.

The DTEK50, aka the world’s most secure Android smartphone as advertised by the company sports a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p display, a 64-bit octacore Snapdragon 617 processor with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot supporting expansion up to 2TB. There is a 13MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus, an f/2.0 aperture and support for 1080p video recording at 30fps, and a 8MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The device packs a “non-removable” 2610mAh battery. Although the company decided against USB Type-C the device still comes with Qualcomm quick charge 2.0.

The device although looks as a ripoff of Alactel’s Idol 4 with a textured back still the look is pretty good. There is a convenience key on the side of the device that can be programmed to do anything like launching a app, or muting the device in call. The device runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with blackberry’s DTEK security suite with informs about device security and suggest you measures to increase the security. Being so secure the device doesn’t have the one thing presently popular in the mobile security. The fingerprint sensor. Yes, although being blackberry’s most secure device it dosent have a fingerprint sensor.
The device is available on blackberry’s website for pre-order for $229 and the blackberry is giving out a 12600mAh power bank free with the pre-order devices. The pre-order devices will ship out at 8th August so hurry up.
