Xiaomi Black Shark: Xiaomi’s answer to the Razer phone

Xiaomi at a Shanghai, China event launched its Black Shark gaming smartphone. The smartphone is the creation of a partnership between Xiaomi and Black Shark technology. Black Shark technologies is a Chinese gaming product manufacturing company. The collaboration is made to produce Gaming smartphone that could challenge the Razer phone.

Specifications

The Black Shark smartphone will feature a 6-inch 2.5D display which will have a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with the Adreno 630GPU, which is coupled with up to 8GB of RAM with an internal storage of 128GB and will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

For the camera department, the device hosts a dual-camera setup at the back with a 12-megapixel primary lens and a 20-megapixel secondary lens with an aperture of f/1.75. The primary camera has phase-detection autofocus, Portrait mode, and HDR. The front camera is 20-megapixel shooter with an aperture of f/2.2 for wide selfies.

All of this is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 through the USB Type-C connectivity.

Unique Gamepad for the Xiaomi Black Shark

 

A unique gamepad for the Black shark device is also launched which can be attached to the device. The gamepad has an internal battery of 150 mAh and will last up to 30 hours on a single charge. The gamepad will allow the user to play games on the device in a better fashion and without them touching the screen. The gamepad is designed to enhance the gaming experience of the user.

Price and availability

As of now, there are only two variants of the Xiaomi Black Shark, a 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage model which is priced at roughly $480 and the top of the pile 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage model which is priced at roughly $560. The controller will be sold separately with the device for $30. No news still for the launch of the device out of China.
