Xiaomi Mi 5X with dual cameras and more launched
Xiaomi officially unveiled the Mi 5X in a press event yesterday in China. Mi 5X is their newest addition in the budget series of smartphones.
The Mi 5X sports an all metal design like the rest of the phones these days with an anti-fingerprint coating and rounded corners giving it a nice look. The phone also is comfortable to hold. It is powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset with Adreno 506 GPU. The phone along with 4 GB of ram has 64 GB storage with a expandable micro-SD card slot.
This is backed up by a 5.5-inch Full HD screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution the pretty standard Xiaomi design with capacitive buttons and 2.5D curved glass.
In the optics department, the Mi 5X houses a dual-camera setup, with a 12MP (f/2.2) wide-angle lens and a 12MP (f/2.6) telephoto lens coupled with Dual Tone flash and PDFA. According to the press statement by Xiaomi, this camera is identical in specs and performance to their flagship Mi 6. Also there is a 5MP front camera for taking the in fashion-selfies.
The Mi 5X comes with MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 which is pre-installed. Moreover it is the first phone to come with MIUI 9 pre-installed.
All of this is powered by a 3080 mAH non removable battery. Also there is a USB type C along with a IR blaster and fingerprint sensor on the back to mention more note-worthy details.
The device will be available in Black, Rose-Gold and Gold colour and will go on sale on August 1 for the price of $222(~₹14,000). It’s not clear at this point exactly when, if ever, the Mi 5X will be available outside its home. But the phone does seem worth the wait.
